Innovative Solution to Eradicate and Process (Prosopis Juliflora) Mesquite

Introduction:

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water  in collaboration with Oman Environmental Services Holding Company (be’ah)  is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from experienced and innovative companies capable of providing comprehensive solutions for the eradication and processing of Prosopis juliflora (Mesquite) trees in Oman.
Mesquite trees have become a significant environmental concern in Oman due to their invasive nature and rapid spread in the country's arid regions. These trees have proven to be highly adaptive and aggressive, outcompeting native flora and causing ecological imbalances. The uncontrolled proliferation of mesquite trees has led to adverse effects on biodiversity, agriculture, and water resources, posing a threat to Oman's natural ecosystems and sustainable development.

The Objectives:

  • Propose a solution for the eradication and processing the mesquite tree.
  • Develop and implement innovative and scalable solutions for the complete eradication of Mesquite trees and their conversion into commercially viable products.
